Stages of growth and development of children - From the title at the top there are two key words that is growth and development, each has a different meaning or definition.

Growth is an increase in the size of the various organs (physical) caused a rise in the respective measurement cells.

While the definition of development is a complex process of maturation in relation to aspects of differentiation form / functions including social and economic change. Processes relating to the development of non-physical aspects such as intelligence, behavior and others.

In child health knowledge (IKA), the growth and development of children defined as all aspects of the progress made by the human body from conception (fetal formation), children up to adulthood.

The characteristics of the occurrence of child growth and development clearly can be seen from several aspects of physical aspects, social, intellectual and emotional stages of their child's growth and development.

Stages of child growth and development included:

1. Time neonates (birth time of birth up to age 28)


2. Baby time that is the time the age of 4 weeks / 1 month up to age 1 year


3. Childhood or pre-school time that is age 2 and 5/6 years


4. School time that is age 5/6 up to 12 years


5. Time young people, ages 12 to 18 years
